a daimyō of Satsuma Province and the eldest son of Shimazu Takahisa. His mother was a daughter of Iriki'in Shigesato, Sesshō. Shimazu Yoshihiro and Shimazu Toshihisa are his brothers. His childhood name was Torajumaru but he went by the name of Matasaburō.
